Today was my last day working at Euphoria Salon and Day Spa in Conway, Arkansas. Euphoria was my first job out of cosmetology school and the staff there immediately accepted me as one of their own. I've loved working there for the last nine months. I'm seriously going to miss this job and the amazing people that I've had the pleasure of working with. Gah, life is crazy man.
I leave Arkansas in EIGHT DAYS. I've never moved to a totally new place before and I'm equally excited and terrified. I truly can't wait to live near all of my family in Oregon, they're pretty incredible people and I love them dearly. I'm also pretty stoked to be able to hike, ski, or go to the beach all within two hours of where I'll be living.
Tomorrow my beloved roommates are leaving AR as well to go hike the Appalachian Trail. They're going to be living the dream and I'm super excited for them! Pray that they don't get eaten by bears.
I've chosen to bravely road trip across the country with my friend Lauren Treat instead of shipping my things and flying. I REALLY enjoy road trips. There is just something about being crammed in a car surrounded by all of your stuff for multiple hours at a time. Thankfully I have several playlists and audiobooks at the ready. Also my car, Ginger, has just been to the car doctor and was given a clean bill of health and new brakes in order to make this trek. Here's a map of what our route looks like! We'll be stopping at some cool spots, like the Grand Canyon, Cadillac Ranch, Las Vegas, Pasadena, Los Angeles, and San Fransisco before we get to Portland. Big thanks to the McBrydes' and my godmother Lora for letting us stay with them!
